High School Girls Basketball
Princeville beat Rowva 66-38. Leah Whittaker led the Lady Princes (7-3) with 20 points. Kelsey Kovacik had 19 for the Tigers. Princeville also won the freshman/sophomore game 38-29.
Knoxville beat Farmington 45-27. Hannah Weedman paced the Blue Bullets (8-1) offensively with 12 points. Rachel Stobaugh scored a game-high 14 points for the Farmers.
Lewistown came from ten points down in the fourth quarter to beat Abingdon 53-50. Melissa VonKannon and Cordan Jones scored 18 points apiece for the Commandos (4-3). Kalie Bainter led the Indians (5-3) with 13 points and Kristyn LaGrande recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
United got off to a fast start, outscoring Galva 18-5 in the first quarter, and went on to beat the Wildcats 63-16. Gina Long led four Red Storm players in double-figure scoring with 16 points.
Brimfield (8-1) beat North Fulton (2-6) 62-28. Paige Spietz led the Indians with 18 points. Meredith Beoletto scored 14 for the Wildcats.
Monmouth-Roseville stopped West Prairie 63-50. Rebecca Gillen scored 22 points and Claire McGuire added 18 for the Titans.
Annawan defeated Wethersfield 67-57. Shelby Steger scored 17 points for the Flying Geese.
South Fulton won at Beardstown 44-35 in non-conference play. Tiffany Churchill led the Rebels (7-1) with 16 points.
High School Boys Basketball
Galesburg's freshman team lost to United Township 62-49. Travon Diggins scored 11 points for the Silver Streaks (1-2) and Riley VanVelsor added 10.
Junior High Boys Basketball
7th grade: Lombard 48, Macomb 28 8th grade: Macomb 36, Lombard 27
Wrestling
Monmouth-Roseville picked up two victories, outpointing Deer Creek-Mackinaw 63-15 and Midwest Central 48-30.
Girls Bowling
Galesburg defeated West Central (2381-2104). Kendra Weichmann rolled a 502 three-game series to lead the Silver Streaks. Galesburg's junior varsity team was also victorious against the Heat (2054-1558). |
