| Blackhawks Give Coach "Q" 500th Win |
CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville has earned the 500th regular-season victory of his National Hockey League career. Quenneville hit the milestone Tuesday night as the Blackhawks defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 in a shootout at the United Center. Quenneville is the 14th coach in league history to reach that plateau. The Windsor, Ontario, native has compiled a .601 regular-season winning percentage (500-311-132) over parts of 13 years as a head coach, which also includes stops with the St. Louis Blues (1996-2004) and the Colorado Avalanche (2005-08). He has notched a 62-28-14 regular-season record with the Blackhawks over the last two seasons. Quenneville has reached the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 10 of his 12 previous campaigns, compiling a 51-53 all-time mark.
