| Galesburg High School's Meredith Named to Academic All State Team |
POSTED 1:42 p-m 12/10/09 A Galesburg High School senior who excelled on the football field and in the classroom is receiving a prestigious honor.
Aaron Meredith has been selected as a member of the Illinois High School Football Coaches' Association Academic All-State Team.
Meredith was a two-way player this past season for the Silver Streaks football team. He was a slot-back on offense and a first-team All-Western Big Six selection on defense as a safety.
Meredith's achievements in the classroom were also recognized by the IHSFCA in Class 5-A.
Meredith's selection marks the second straight year Galesburg High School has had a player named to the academic all-state team.
Tanner Libby, a standout football, basketball and baseball player for the Streaks, was named to the IHSFCA Class 5-A Academic All-State Team in 2008. |
