| Metrodome Roof Repair on Hold for Safety Concerns |
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Work to repair the roof of the Metrodome in Minneapolis is on hold out of concern that other panels could give way under the weight of snow and ice.
A fourth roof panel gave way Wednesday night. Three other sections failed early Sunday under the weight of a blizzard.
Facilities director Steve Maki says officials can't say how many other panels are at risk of failing. Maki says a plan is being worked out to remove snow from the rest of the roof.
There's still no timetable for when the roof will be fixed. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
