College Results Monmouth men lost to Wisc-Eau Claire 72-52 women beat Trine 62-48
College Bowls Illinois spoiled Baylor's first bowl appearance in 16 years by beating up on the Bears 38-14 last night in the Texas Bowl in Houston. Mikel Leshoure ran for 184 yards and three touchdowns to lead Illinois to its first bowl victory since 1999. Leshoure finished with 1,697 yards, a single-season rushing record for Illinois.
It was all Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl where the 16th-ranked Cowboys routed Arizona 36-10.

College Basketball Illinois had five players in double figures as the 23rd-ranked Illini opened their Big Ten schedule with an 87-77 win over Iowa last night in Iowa City. Demetri McCamey led Illinois with 20 points and D.J. Richardson added 17 for the Illini, who improved to 11-3 overall.
