HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Galesburg Silver Streaks couldn't pull out their second Western Big 6 Conference win of the season, losing at home Friday night to Rock Island 66-54. Brandon Thompson led the Streaks with 15 points; while Dalton Davis, Ryan McElmurray, and Chad Thompson followed with 10 points each. Chasson Randle led the Rock with 22 points. The Streaks are now 5-2 overall, and 1-1 in Western Big 6 play. They'll try to avenge the loss Saturday night at Metamora. You can hear the broadcast beginning at 6:06pm on AM 1400 WGIL.

The GHS Sophomores remain winless on the season, after losing to Rock Island 65-31 Friday night. No player scored in double digits, but Travon Diggins and Ryan Carl led the Streaks with 6 points each.

Wiliamsfield couldn't get past Wethersfield, losing in Kewanee Friday night 69-60. Curtis Campbell led the Bombers with 20 points, while Justin Ingle came in with 19. Kyle Bumphrey led the Flying Geese with 18 points.

Knoxville dominated South Fulton Friday night, 67-38. Trent Benedict led the Blue Bullets with 21 points.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL

The Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls play two Saturday as part of the Holiday Classic. The Girls take on Peoria Central Saturday morning, then Peoria Notre Dame after lunch. You can hear the girls' broadcasts beginning at 8:40am and 1:06pm on AM 1400 WGIL.
