It was a late but strong comeback for the Galesburg silver streaks against Metamora last night. With three and a half minutes to go, the streaks were down by 14 points, but went 9 and 0 against the redbirds. Eventually the game would be tied and the final points earned with a layup by Brandon Thompson the final score 57-56.
And on the hardwood for the girls, it was a record breaking day for one silver streak. Jessica Howard scored nine three-pointers in one game against Peoria Notre Dame Saturday, that breaks a 1994 record of eight. The streaks played a double-header first defeating Peoria Notre Dame 73-60 and just a couple short hours later, taking on Peoria High School with a win of 82-60. Howard ended the day with 15 total three pointers and 49 points in both games. |
