| Penn St. Hearing Judge Reviews Paterno Testimony |
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- The Pennsylvania judge who will decide if two Penn State administrators can be tried on perjury charges has halted their preliminary hearing so he can read their grand jury testimony and that of former head coach Joe Paterno. Paterno is not at the hearing. Harrisburg District Judge William Wenner is reading the text of his testimony. Earlier Friday, Penn State assistant football coach Mike McQueary said he believes he saw former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky sexually molesting a boy on campus. He also says he later told Paterno and administrators Tim Curley and Gary Schultz about it. Curley and Schultz are accused of lying to the grand jury about what McQueary reported. Their lawyers say they're innocent. The judge must decide whether prosecutors have enough evidence to send the case to trial. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
