HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL

A tough loss for the Galesburg Silver Streaks Friday night, as they lost to Western Big 6 Conference foe Rock Island 56-22. It was the fifth straight loss for the Streaks, and their lowest point total since 2004. The Rocks are undefeated in the Western Big 6, while the Streaks are winless in the Western Big 6. The Streaks will play Pleasant Valley Saturday in the Iowa-Illinois Shootout. Pregame coverage at 11:25am, tip-off at 11:45, on AM 1400 WGIL.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL

The Knoxville Blue Bullets will advance to the title game of the Knoxville-Abingdon Tournament, defeating Rock Island in a close game Friday 51-48. Katie Houston led the Blue Bullets with 13 points. The girls will play Illini Bluffs at 4:30 Saturday afternoon.

Knox College's women drop to 1-8 on the season as the Prairie Fire lose to Buena Vista 79-67.
