HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL
The Galesburg Silver Streaks have now lost six in a row, losing at the Iowa/Illinois Shootout to Pleasant Valley Saturday 54-38 at Augustana College. Aslan Butler led the Streaks with 12 points and 9 rebounds.
GHS Freshman (A) 61, Quincy 46 GHS Freshman (B) 34, Quincy 5
ROWVA 46, United 34 at the ROWVA-Ridgewood Classic. Orion placed first in the tournament, followed by Williamsfield. Mercer County placed 3rd, breaking a three-way tie with Prophetstown and ROWVA through defensive points allowed.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL
Knoxville walked away with the title in the Knoxville-Abingdon tournament by defeating Illini Bluffs 56-49 Saturday. The Blue Bullets girls are now on a 10-game win streak. Katie Houston led the Blue Bullets with 15 points.
Also at the tourney, Rock Island defeated Abingdon 46-34.

LOCAL COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Knox College's men used a big second half to defeat the Milwaukee School of Engineering Saturday 63-58. The Prairie Fire won their second straight game, improving their record to 2-5. Senior Joe Kozak led Knox with 14 points.

HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING
GHS's Demario Walker placed second at the Metamora Varsity Wrestling Invitational Saturday. John Clark went four overtimes to pull off a win versus Limestone's Raul Araya. Team results were not provided.
GHS places 3rd at the Washington J/V Tournament. Jaron Mustain, Antonio Villareal, K.K. Pendleton placed 1st. Evan Hillier placed second. Tanner Minnon placed third. Ryan Darby placed fourth.

Galesburg placed 8th out of 8 teams at the Richwoods Midwest Invitational in Peoria. Sandburg placed 1st. |
