Local College Up for Bellwether Award
Carl Sandburg College has something to celebrate now that they made it to the final round of this years Bellwether Award.

The College along with Elgin Community College are the only Community Colleges in Illinois to make this years finals in the category of Planning, Governance and Finance.

CSC submitted a program called " Leveraging the Cloud for Students Success and Institutional Effectiveness."

Vice President of Administrative Services Sam Sudhakar tells WGIL the program helps students and the college achieve their educational goals with the help of technology.

"We submitted a proposal for a technology program that that we have launched in the College that uses Cloud-based technologies to help your students to succeed and improve operation proficiencies within the institution."

Sudhakar says there are four strategic goals and priorities for the college--Student access and successes, teaching and learning, community alliances, and operational sustainability.

He says the use of the Cloud technology touches on all four of the goals.

Sudhakar is headed to Florida to present CSC's proposal to a committee of peers from other community colleges.

The winner will be announced January 30.
