No Snow Means No IL Snow Sculpting Competition
ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) -- A statewide snow-sculpting competition scheduled for Rockford has been canceled because there's not enough snow.

The Rockford Register-Star reports ( ) that the 27th annual Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition has been canceled. It had already been postponed from Jan. 16 to Jan. 23. Teams from around Illinois were to compete and the winners represent Illinois in the U.S. Nationals Snow Sculpting Competition.

The Rockford Park District says the event usually attracts 40,000 people.

This is the third time the competition has been canceled.
