Galesburg City Council to Vote on Energy Supplier
The Galesburg City Council has a few items to approve that may impact Galesburg consumers.

On the agenda Tuesday is an ordinance changing Sunday liquor sales times to 7 am.

The move would put Galesburg in line with surrounding communities in Knox County. The goal being to keep sales tax revenue going to the City.

Also on the agenda is the City's plan to deal with the Emerald Ash Borer Beetle. The infestation was discovered after gardeners at Knox College discovered weakened tree limbs.

The Council will also be dealing with energy aggregation, an item voters approved in November.

City Administration is recommending a 24-month agreement with the chosen supplier.

According to reports, selecting the chosen supplier would save consumers more than 33 percent on their bills.

Tuesday's City Council meeting begins at 6:30 inside Council Chambers at Galesburg City Hall.
