Former Orpheum Head Appears in Court
The former Orpheum Theatre manager accused of having a sexual act with a minor has made another appearance in court.

25-year old Josh Damewood appeared in Knox County Circuit Court Monday morning for a first appearance with his Public Defender, Karl Johnson.

Damewood faces two Class-Two felony counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.

Damewood was first arrested December 29th, a few weeks after a 16-year old boy first reported the alleged acts to authorities.

The boy told investigators he asked Damewood - then theatre Managing Director - about a role he wanted in a play being produced at the theatre. That allegedly led to Damewood performing a sexual act on the boy.

Damewood was fired from the Orpheum as a result of his arrest. He will next be in court February 26th for a preliminary hearing.

He remains free from jail after posting bond.
