Library Construction Fees Cause Concerns
The Galesburg Public Library Board held a special meeting yesterday afternoon to look over the resolution with the City for exchanging property.

Before that, the Library's Construction committee met to go over the fee proposals from Architectural and Construction Management firms.

The board was pleased with the resolution and stated that everything seemed to be in order, but the construction committee seemed less confident.

After opening the fee proposals from both their chosen architect and construction manager, the committee decided they needed a few things clarified.

Construction Committee Chair Martin Reichel tells WGIL they're a little confused by the proposals.

"We're trying to figure out exactly what all this means," says Reichel. "They sent in these proposals some time ago, now we've got to digest what it all is supposed to mean and it's going to involve making some phone calls to people and getting clarification."

If the proposal - which appears not to contain liability insurance for the construction manager - is confirmed as correct, the board has the option of going to their second choice.

Once a decision is made to move to their second choice, the first choice cannot be returned to at a later date.
