Man Arrested After Fulton County Chase
A Peoria man is in trouble with the law in Fulton County after giving chase to police while having passengers in his car including children.

The Fulton County Sheriffs Department says the chase happened around 2:20 Saturday morning, starting at Illinois 78 and US Route 24 east of Lewistown.

While speeds were not described as excessive, deputies say they followed 33-year old Charles Mikel's vehicle on 24 until he turned into a wetland dead end area, and was able to be cornered by squad cars.

Deputies say a female passenger and two small children were in the car at the time.

The female wasn't arrested, but deputies say Mikel faces charges including Driving on a Revoked License, Fleeing and Eluding, Child Endangerment, Improper Child Restraint, and possession of cannabis among other charges.

Mikel somehow was able to post bond and was released with a May court date.
