Fallen Tree Kills Gilson Man
Knox County Sheriffs Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Knox Road 1000 North Saturday afternoon near Gilson for what could be described as a rare accident.

A call around 4 o'clock reported that an individual appeared to be trapped under a log at the location.

It was learned during the investigation that 62 year old Richard Grohmann had reportedly been missing for several hours.

According to a press release, he had been missing long enough that a family friend had gone looking for him.

The family friend reportedly located Grohmann and called authorities to report the incident.

Once authorities were on scene, Grohmann was found trapped under a tree prompting the Knoxville Fire Department and Knox County Coroner to also be called.

The Knox County Sheriff's Department believes that Grohmann was attempting to dislodge the tree at the location. Grohman owns a Christmas tree farm.

The tree is believed to have fallen on him during the dislodging process.

Grohmann was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Coroner. The Knox County Sheriff's Department believes no foul play is involved.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday
