Residents Still Not Pleased With Hotel Development
Some of the same problems persist with a proposed hotel, retail, and housing development planned for the area of Seminary Street across the road from the Seminary Square Shopping Center.

The Galesburg City Council discussed the proposal for around two hours last night as part of a request to change the zoning on the land depending on what will be going up and where.

Quad Cities-based Developer Todd Raufeisen wants to build the complex, and resident Mike DeWitt says he can't be trusted.

"What we call corporate greed is driven developers into our city leaders then decided we then need a four story hotel in our backyard."

DeWitt claims taxpayers are not truly being heard in the process, and that the city will not be saved by tourism.

Wade Lee just moved to the Costa area in February, and thinks his home will be in trouble.
