The process Carl Sandburg College officials say has worked very well in negotiating contracts with its teachers union has worked yet again. College officials announced Friday that the C-S-C Board of Trustees has approved a new extension of the ongoing contract with the Sandburg Education Association. The current deal was set to expire in 2014 -- but college officials now say the deal extends to 2016, and will provide pay raises of nearly four percent in 2015 and 2016. College officials say in a press release that the type of rolling negotiation process they use allows the best attention to be paid to students and their success -- what they call interest-based bargaining. The press release states that the S-E-A and the college are pleased with the process and its results. |
