|The Galesburg City Council will have the opportunity to review the City's proposed Master Fee schedule, Monday night.
Aldermen have discussed, through several budget work sessions, the possibility of reducing staff to help balance the City's fiscal year 2014 budget.
City Manager Todd Thompson presented revenue alternatives at a work session last week to help make up for the costs of the positions.
The City has been attempting to close a 2-million dollar deficit and Thompson proposed reducing 10-12 positions - several of which are in the police and fire departments.
The aim of the multiple fee increases is to recover costs in the City budget on an annual basis, but according to City documents, they hope to balance that against creating a barrier to entry.
Included in the fee increase proposal is an increase in refuse and water rates in the City - which has seen support due to what is considered the necessity of the service.
The meeting begins at 6:30 in Council Chambers at Galesburg City Hall.
