Tourism Site Gets A New Look
Planning an exciting weekend can be hard sometime when you just don't know what's going on around town.

One place that's always a good idea to check out is your local city's tourism website.

There you can usually find a number of activities going on months in advance--making planning much easier.

Executive Director the for Galesburg Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Judy Guenseth tells the WGIL Morning News the Bureau has a brand new website and one of the new features is designed to keep residents in the loop when it comes to local events.

"One of the neat things that I really like about it is we do have a calendar events, and that is a community calendar events and there are three different categories. Fairs and festivals, arts and culture and then we also have just a regular community events."

Guenseth says the site also allows you to add events to the page.

She says on the left hand side of the page is a big plus sign and if you click it you're taken to a form.

Fill out the form with your information and type of event and it will be submitted for review and could be added to the calendar.

Guenseth says she hopes the new feature will encourage residents to add local community events and charity events to the page.
