Peoria Police Search for Leads in Fatal Shooting
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- Peoria detectives say there are few leads in their investigation into a fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man earlier this week.

The (Peoria) Journal-Star reports Sonny T. Ford died after he was shot multiple times around 3:30 Tuesday morning. His death was the city's 19th homicide of 2013.

Ford was pronounced dead at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Investigators say they haven't made any arrests yet, but believe Ford was shot about 45 minutes after at least one person kicked in the door of his girlfriend's apartment.

The woman and two children who were inside the home weren't hurt.

Peoria County State's Attorney Jerry Brady says authorities don't believe the attack was gang related, but still aren't sure what the motive may have been.
