Agnes (Luymes) Brawner, 91, of Galva, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 7 at the First United Methodist Church of Galva. Rev. Ann Champion will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, January 6 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 9 at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City, IA. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Galva or to the Galva Public Library.

She was born December 14, 1921 in Middleburg, IA, the daughter of Neal and Johanna DeWit. She married Glenn I. Luymes on May 1, 1945 and he died December 20, 1956. She later married Howard Brawner on February 18, 1972 and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1978. Surviving are her children, Keith A. (Margo) Luymes of Galva, Nancy J. McClay of Knoxville, IL, Lynn E. (Chet) Travis of Tremont, IL and Carol A. (Peter) King of Basalt, CO, her step-sons, Donald (Helen) Brawner of Peoria and Mac (Brenda) Brawner of Virginia, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, two brothers, Julius DeWit and Eugene (Norma) DeWit, both of Canby, MN and two sisters, Helen (Loyd) Vermeer and Edith Lubach, both of Sioux Center, IA. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother and sister-in-law, James (Maria) DeWit of Holstein, IA, sister-in-law, Johanna DeWit of Canby, MN, her sister and brother-in-law, Adrianna (Eugene) Kuyper of Arkadelphia, AR, brother-in-law, Howard Lubach of Sioux Center, IA and brother-in-law and his wife, Les (Evie) Luymes of Newport Beach, CA.
