|L. Clarene (Baker) Weller, age 88 of Englewood, Colorado and formerly of Abingdon, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Morningstar Assisted Living Center in Littleton, Colorado.
She was born February 24, 1924 in Abingdon, the daughter of W. Thomas "Tom" and Julia E. (Hollister) Baker. She married Howard Taylor and he preceded her in death. She later married Richard E. Weller and he also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Wilamene Ryan, a brother, Harold and an infant brother, Beecher.
Clarene is survived by one sister, Editha Brashear of Galesburg; a nephew, Tom (Ginger) Ryan and family; a niece, Linda (Dan) Schisler; great-nieces, Bobbi Helander and family, Lindsey Schisler, and Jennifer Graves and family; a great-nephew, Pat Pierce. Also surviving are stepchildren and their families.
She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1942. She worked as a telephone operator for 25 years.
Cremation was accorded. To celebrate her life, the family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Private burial of her ashes will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg.
