|Naomi Mahr, 90, of Galesburg, Ill. died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Marigold Health Care Center.
She was born on February 11, 1922 in Perryville, Ark. to Clarence Harvey and Fannie Mae Norman Whitfield. She married Ben Mahr on April 9, 1969. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Whitfield and Miles Rook and two grandchildren.
Naomi is survived by a son, Jim King of Peoria, Ill.; three daughters, Patricia (and William) Carpentier and Shirley (and Gary) Pringle, both of Galesburg and D. Jane (and Jim) Watts of Ark.; three sisters, Ila Mae Stanley and Ruth Witkowski, both of Ark. and Elvie Lucy (and Larry) Barker of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was of the Baptist faith. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army.
Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Private family visitation will be held. Memorials may be made to the family.
