|Harvey Wesley Frazier, 95, of Galesburg, died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 11:45 p.m. at the Heartland Health Care Center.
Harvey was born on January 13, 1918, in Paducah, Ky. to Charles and Estelle (Hollowell) Frazier. He married Alma Fitzpatrick Maxwell on May 2, 1967.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Maxine Frazier of San Antonio, Texas; and one son, Robert (and Brenda) Frazier, of Lima, Ohio, both from his previous marriage to Henrietta Howard; two stepdaughters, Gloria Owens of Paducah, Ky., and Vicki (and Jon, Sr.) Sibley of Galesburg; one stepson, Steven (and Vielean) Maxwell of Galesburg; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Beacon, also from his previous marriage.
Harvey was a construction laborer for Local #538 for more than 25 years, until his retirement in 1991. It was said that he was one of the hardest working laborers to be found in the area. After his retirement, Harvey also worked as a school crossing guard.
He was a member of Full Gospel Church of Galesburg.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Jon A. Sibley Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at East Linwood Cemetery.
