|Donald L. Hardine, 78, of Galesburg, died at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Knox County Nursing Home.
He was born November 2, 1934 in Galesburg, the son of Harold and Bernice McKamy Hardine. He married Grace Green on September 9, 1960 in Rio, Ill.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy (Marianne) Hardine of Bolingbrook, Ill. and Mick (Susan) Hardine of Pella, Iowa; a daughter, Stacey (and David) Farrell of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Alex, Andy, and Aaron Hardine and Tyler Farrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
Donald was vice president of Galesburg Cigar and Specialty for many years. He also owned B & B Book Bindery in Galesburg for eight years. He retired in 1984.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1953 and then from Brown's Business College. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge #894.
Donald served in the United States Army for 2 1/2 years.
Graveside service will be 12 noon Monday, January 28, 2013 at East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Ill. c/o the funeral home.
