|Paul W. Davis, age 81 of East Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:33 P.M. on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center of Galesburg, Illinois.
He was born November 15, 1932 in Old Gilcrest, Illinois the son of Clarence and Mary Ella Agan Davis. He married Carol K. LaFollette on December 11, 1960 in Galesburg, Illinois. She survives and lives in East Galesburg, Illinois.
Surviving are his children: Kenneth Johnson of Gifford, Illinois; Jackie (Todd) Lee of Monmouth, Illinois; Steven Davis of Galesburg, Illinois; Rodney (Rhonda) Davis of Peoria, Illinois and Roger (Mary) Davis of Central City, Iowa; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings: Mildred Seger of Quincy, Illinois and Bethel Swanson of Nashville, North Carolina. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Hazel Banks; two brothers-in-law, John Seger and Carl Swanson; one daughter-in-law, Mary Johnson and one infant great granddaughter.
He worked for Wilson Foods for twenty years, retiring in 1986. He also farmed and loved working with his live stock. He enjoyed being outdoors and doing woodworking. He was a member of the First Church of God in Galesburg, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 23 at the First Church of God in Galesburg, Illinois. Rev. Donald Reynolds will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. A fellowship will follow at the church following the service. Interment will be held at the Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, Illinois.
