Dunn, Marjorie Ann
Marjorie Ann Dunn, age 78 of Galesburg, Illinois passed on Monday, February 18, 2013 at her home in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on October 12, 1934 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Ben D. Bixenman and Mary Teresa Mitch Bixenman. She married Donald E. Dunn on April 10, 1955 at St. Mary’s Church in Ft. Madison. Don preceded her in death on October 6th, 2012.

Surviving are two sons: Daniel E. Dunn of Brimfield, IL, Steven C. (Ruth) Dunn of LaCrosse, WI and one daughter: Donna M. (Kenny) Naslund of Altona, IL. Seven grandchildren: Dustin (Jen) Dunn, Sean Dunn, Eric Dunn, Kendra (David) Peterson, Brian Naslund, Sara Naslund, Erin Naslund; two great grandchildren: Machaella Moore and Zander Peterson. Also surviving is one brother: Bob Bixenman of Wever, IA and one sister: Rita Pranger of Olympia, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and three brothers.

She was the youngest of seven children. She was of the Catholic faith. Marge graduated from Catholic Central High School, Ft. Madison, IA in 1952. She worked for Schaffer Pen Company until her marriage. She and Don lived in LaHarpe and then Galesburg. Marge babysat children in her home for many years. She then worked for the State of Illinois Employment Office for 23 years until retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Galesburg. She and Don spent 10 winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Marge loved to spend time with her grandchildren, her family and their many wonderful friends. Don and Marge met on the dance floor and danced their whole marriage.

Cremation Rites will be accorded. Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:30 P.M. on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois, with a Rosary at 4:30 P.M. Entombment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois. Following the Graveside Memorial Services a Fellowship will be held at 12:00 Noon at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Caring Senior Service; Hospice Compassus; or Gordon Behrents Senior Center of Knox County.
