|Violet Iona Pruett, 92, of Galesburg, died at 10:49 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Seminary Manor.
She was born July 22, 1920 in Alexis, Ill. the daughter of Thomas Guy and Maude Mariah (Saylor) Hall. She married James Clyde Pruett on February 22, 1947 in Knoxville, Ill.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Hall of Lawrence, Kan. and Jean (and Bruce) Near of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Jason (and Stefanie) D’Asto, Pilar (and Morgan Seaman) D’Asto, and Thomas Reaves; and four great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, and a nephew.
Violet was employed by Knox College Food Service for over 20 years. She enjoyed many crafts, especially quilting, cross-stitch, and crocheting.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Cremation will be accorded. A private graveside service is planned. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Piecemakers Quilt Guild, P.O. Box 1164, Galesburg, IL 61402-1164.
