Hart, Charles Arlington
Charles Arlington Hart, 94,of Avon died February 18, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg, IL.

Son of Charles W Hart and Edna Young Hart, was born January 26, 1919, in Avon, IL. He married Barbara H Race on September 11, 1942 at Hayward, CA. They had four children: Lee (Diane) Hart of Atlanta, MO; Gene (Peggy) Hart of Loda, IL; Carol (Morris) Mattson of Avon, IL; and Darlene (Rob) Barnhurst of Berrien Springs, MI; twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sisters.

Mr. Hart served in World War II in Europe. He was in the 394th Infantry, serving from August 26, 1941- October 6, 1945. He received two ribbons, three Bronze Battle Stars, one Service Stripe, two overseas Service Bars, and a Good Conduct Medal. He lived and farmed in the Avon area most of his life. He received awards for his soil conservation practices.

Funeral service will be Sunday February 24, 2013, 2:00 pm at the Corman Memorial Home Avon, IL. Family will receive friends one hour prior, followed by burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
