|Adolph Edward Eibner, age 78, of Fairview and formerly of Abingdon, died at 9:15 am Thursday, February 21, 2013, at his home.
He was born on April 18, 1934, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Adolph and Marie (Fuchs) Eibner. He married Patsy L. Risenhoover on October 8, 1960, in Abingdon. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Adolph is survived by one son, Steven (and Janet) Eibner of Champaign; one daughter, Karen (and Jeff) Sedgwick of Howell, Michigan; two grandchildren, Ian Sedgwick and Rachel Sedgwick; one brother, Arthur (and Sharon) Eibner of Stillwater, Minnesota; one niece, Joann Grady and one nephew, Jeff Eibner.
He served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant, on November 1, 1974. He then worked at Gates Rubber Company for 15 years, retiring on 1989. He had lived in Abingdon for several years and he and Patsy moved to Fairview in 1993. He was a member of the Roy Miller American Legion Post #644 in Fairview and was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was an automotive enthusiast and attended many area car shows.
Praying of the Rosary and Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel.
