|Max W. Hillman, Jr., age 79, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:25 A.M. on Friday, February 22, 2013 at his home in Galesburg, Illinois.
He was born on November 15, 1933 in Monmouth, Illinois the son of Max W. and Jane Barron HiIlman, Sr. He attended the Monmouth Schools in Monmouth and then attended Browns Business College.
Surviving is his companion: Vicky L. Weedman of Galesburg, Illinois. His children: Linda (Raymond) Wittner of La Port, Minnesota; Tony Hillman of Peoria, Illinois; Wayne Hillman of Galesburg, Illinois; David (Heidi) Hillman of Twin Cities, Minnesota. Two step-children: Gail Dunn of Galesburg, Illinois and Michael (Donna) Scholl of Ft. Madison, Iowa; Joe Carley of Galesburg, Illinois; Angie (Randy) Potts of Dahinda, Illinois; Billie Carley of Galesburg, Illinois; Kevin Weedman of Houston, Texas; and Jason Weedman of Galesburg, Illinois. Many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. One brother: Donald Hillman, Sr., of Knoxville, Illinois. Many cousins, nephews and nieces.
He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He was Forman for Hillman Tree Surgery and Arnold Tree Surgery and worked for former Admirals then Maytag for 37 years, the last 18 years as Forman in Black Metal. He retired in June 1st of 1993.
He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Post 8 of Knox County, Illinois.
Cremation Rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory. There will be no funeral.
