|Dorothy B. Ericson, 90, of Galva, died at 4:10 PM, Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Courtyard Estates in Galva.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 1 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Ann Champion will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Galva.
She was born September 18, 1922 in Henry County, IL, the daughter of Ivorid R. and Agnes (Huber) Moline. Dorothy was reared in LaFayette and she graduated from LaFayette High School in 1940. She married Lawrence L. Ericson on February 5, 1944 in LaFayette and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1996. Survivors include two sons, Larry (Nancy) Ericson of Kewanee and Roger Ericson of Moline, a daughter, Sue (Tom) Bubnick of Kewanee, seven grandchildren, Ryan, Marc, Ellis, Kristin, Erin, Emily and Andrew, six great grandchildren and a step-brother, Bernard Stutler of Galesburg. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard Alan, a sister, Betty Youngstrom and a step-sister, June Catton.
Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in which she was very active. She served as an officer and chairman in her unit, 15th District and 3rd Division. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Galva. She enjoyed baking, reading, golfing, playing cards with her friends and especially spending time with his family.
