|Charlotte A. (Riley) Williams, age 83 of Dahinda, died at 12:06 am Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
She was born on September 2, 1929 in rural Abingdon, the daughter of Adrian and Pauline (Frederick) Riley. Her father died when she was young and her mother later remarried and was Pauline Tinkham. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1947 and later from Western Illinois University. She married Robert C. “Bob” Williams on August 8, 1963 in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Frederick Williams and one brother, Tom Tinkham.
Charlotte is survived by one daughter, Christine (and Knud Ullerup) Williams of Altona; one son, Tom Williams of Dahinda; three grandchildren, Megan Williams of Joliet, Ellen Ullerup of Altona and Andrew Williams of Dahinda; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon and later Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg
She was a school teacher in rural Abingdon schools for 15 years and briefly in the Dahinda school.
She enjoyed her family, music, scrapbooking, and flower gardening. She liked to attend horse races and horse shows.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg. Monsignor Ernest Pizzamiglio will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Galesburg. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
