|Lloyd R. "Butch" Knapp, 56, of Galesburg, Ill died at 5:00 pm Friday, April 19, 2013 in VA Hospital Iowa City, Iowa.
He was born July 5, 1956 in Avon, Ill., the son of Tom and Karen Schrodt Knapp.
He is survived by his mother, Karen (Jim) Platt of Marysville, Wash.; two brothers, George Zartuche of Marysville, Wash. and Eddie (Diane) Zartuche, of Mackay, Idaho, two sisters, Amy Zartuche of Colo. and Rosa (Terry) Smith of Ottawa, Ill.; several cousins, including Rose Campbell of Galesburg who cared for him and his fiance, Lucinda Thompson of Galesburg. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Santos Zartuche and a niece Lisa Agans.
He served in the US Army as PV2 from 1979-1981.
Butch was an over the road truck driver for several years. He attended Faith Bible Fellowship Church. He enjoyed NFL football and fishing.
A Celebration of his life will be 12-3 pm Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Faith Bible Fellowship Church. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
