|Glenn Everette Moore, Jr., 73, of Galesburg, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Knox County Nursing Home.
He was born June 25, 1939 in Galesburg, the son of Glenn Everette and Mary Edith (Keith) Moore Sr. He married Crystal Lee Barton on May 21, 1966 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Crystal; two sons, David Glenn (and Paula) Moore of Abingdon and Travis Wayne (and Sara) Moore of Knoxville; four grandchildren; a brother, Jack L. Moore of Galesburg; and three sisters, Carol A. (and Tom) Hankins of Wataga, Ill., Vickie S. (and James) Solien of Topeka, Kan., and Patsy L. (and Mark) Patterson of Wataga. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Glenn worked for Victoria Midland Coal Mine for 11 years. He then worked for Lacky Monuments for 20 years, where his artistic skills were utilized to design custom monuments. He retired September 1, 2001.
Glenn graduated from Galesburg High School in 1957. He enjoyed drag racing cars and working on motors. He was an outdoorsman, hunting deer, duck, and rabbit. Glenn served in the United States National Guard for 10 years.
Cremation will be accorded. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
