|M. Louise Kilburn Whitenack, age 90 of Abingdon, died at 4:36 am Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Care Center of Abingdon.
She was born on November 4, 1922 in Lewistown, the eldest daughter of Elmer and Gladys (Porter) Clifford. She married Arthur W. "Dick" Dixon on June 10, 1940 in Palmyra, Missouri. She later married Alvin T. Kilburn on April 2, 1948 in Lewistown. She then married Carl L. Whitenack on April 5, 1997 in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Arthur Dixon, and two sisters, Frances Schisler and Maxine Davis.
Louise is survived by one son, Clifford Dixon of Brentwood, Tennessee; one daughter-in-law, Virginia "Ginger" Stone of Galesburg; ten grandchildren, Keenan Dixon, Kimberly Thompson, Karrie Dulin, Jimmy Don Dixon, Kevin Dixon, Patty Lawson, Kelly Francios, Kristina Rasmussen, Lea Taylor and Shannon Flynn; 17 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Kilburn of Abingdon and several nieces and nephews.
She attended Avon Schools. She helped on the family farm and worked at the Abingdon Blue Bell. She owned and operated Kilburn House Cleaning in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 38 years, retiring in 1987. After her retirement, she moved back to the Abingdon area in 1989. She was a member of the St. Augustine Christian Church. She was also a member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary, and the Grandmothers Club, and she volunteered at the Care Center of Abingdon.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rex Kilburn, her nephew will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel.
