|Mildred M. (Doodge) Ray, age 97 of Maquon, Illinois died at 12:55 P.M. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Graham Hospital, Canton, Illinois.
She was born October 12, 1915 in Ardmore, Missouri the daughter of Millard and Bertha Wiley VanHoose. She married Waldo A. Ray, Sr., on December 22, 1934 in Farmington, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1990.
Surviving is a daughter, Alice (Dennis) Parker of Maquon, Illinois; two sons: John (Paula) Ray of Maquon, Illinois and Donald (Mary Jo) Ray of Maquon, Illinois; Ten Grandchildren, Sixteen Great Grandchildren, and Thirteen Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, four sisters and one daughter, Bertha M. Thomas.
She worked in grocery stores in Maquon, Illinois through the years, and owned and operated the Maquon Café. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Maquon, Illinois. She enjoyed her family, being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Maquon United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois. Rev. Sue Bryce will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Maquon United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois. Burial will be in the Maquon Cemetery, Maquon, Illinois.
