Mildred F. Gillette, 100, of Monmouth, IL died at 5:45 A.M. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Courtyard Estates, Monmouth.

She was born May 3, 1913 in Roseville, IL the daughter of Edward R. and Maggie (Albert) Bullwinkle. She was raised and educated in Warren County in the Fairview Center area where she attended Fairview Center School.

Mildred married Charles Raymond Gillette on July 16, 1928 in Monmouth and he died Feb. 12, 2000.

Mildred worked for 30 years for the General Telephone Co. in Monmouth as an operator before retiring in 1978.

Mildred enjoyed traveling with her husband, Raymond, until his death in 2000. She also enjoyed time with her family and friends. She was a great cook and loved baking cookies and pies for everyone. She also enjoyed crafts.

She was a lifelong member of the Fairview Center United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her two daughters, Marjorie (Don) Patterson of Tomball, TX; and Jeanne Wallace of Monmouth; daughter in law, Ann Lynch-Gillette of Walnut Creek, CA; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren; sister in law, Janice Bullwinkle of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sons, Richard Earl Gillette, Jack Gillette and Jim Gillette; grandson, Roger Gillette; son in law, Tom Wallace; daughter in law, Rosemary Gillette; great granddaughter, Samantha Patterson; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 15, 2013 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth with Rev. Gabriel Wanck officiating and assisted by Rev. John Irwin of the Heritage United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth. Friends may call Friday morning at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home, Monmouth where her family will be present one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be given to the Fairview Center United Methodist Church or the Heritage United Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be left at 734-6008.
