Millard, Rose F.
Rose F. Millard 79 of Galesburg passed away Friday November 30, 2012 at her home.

She was born October 28, 1933 in Little New York Illinois, Daughter of George W.C. and Ellen Brown Poulson.

She married Ronald C. Millard on November 9, 1955 in Monmouth Illinois.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita (and James) Lander of Madison, Wis and Rose Marie (and Patrick) Park of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Michael (and Paula) Park, Michelle (and Steven) Mackey, and Brandy (and Matthew J. ) Street; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Phil (and Bonnie) Poulson of Oquawka Illinois and David (and Jean) Poulson of Galesburg; seven sisters, Joy (and Eldon) Wetzel of Macomb, Il, Rebecca (and Lloyd) Haring of Westminster, Calif., June Friend of Galesburg, and Alice Poulson of Cameron Il., Jewel Winters of Galesburg, Dorothy Bohlander of Galesburg, and Sharon (and Larry) Ginther of Abingdon, Il.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jonathen E. Millard; a grandson, Joshua Pierce; a brother; and four sisters.

Rose worked as a nurse's aide at Monmouth Hospital, and then was a seamstress for Form Fit, Protexall and Gross Galesburg. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1951. As a military wife and devoted mother, Rose was good at packing the family up to move on short notice. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed bowling and belonged to a number of leagues over the years. Rose enjoyed crafting, ceramics, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader.

Funeral will be 10 am Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 pm Monday at the Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral with a private family burial in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
