|Henrietta Eliza Hurlbutt, 97, of Galva, passed away at 2:36 AM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 15 at Galva Cemetery. Pastor Tony Gaff will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, December 14 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Memorials may be directed to the Galva Christian Church.
She was born June 15, 1915 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Elmer and Sara (Holmes) Lewellen. She married Harlan L. Hurlbutt on February 25, 1937 in Washington, IA and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2001. Survivors include a son, Richard (Karen) Hurlbutt of Galva, two grandchildren, Cynthia (Matthew) Berg of Buffalo, IA and Thomas (Nichole) Hurlbutt of Galva and two great grandchildren, Tanner Berg and Kirsten Berg. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Grace Vivian Wexell and a brother, Clarence James Lewellen.
Henrietta was a homemaker and had helped her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and flower and vegetable gardening.
