|Marianne V. Chambers 81, of Rural Galesburg died Thursday December 20, 2012 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Monday December 24 at Bishop Hill Cemetery. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials maybe directed to Guardian Angels in Galesburg or to Second Time Around Animal Rescue in Schaumburg, Il. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.
She was born September 6, 1931 in Galva, the daughter of Earl and Marion(Tillman) Raymond. She married James L. Hagrelius on April 21, 1950 in Abingdon and he preceded her death on January 6, 1988. She then married Clifford Chambers on October 1, 1989 in Galesburg. He survives, as do a daughter, Susan(John Peter) Creighton of Cary Il and several step-children and step-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Raymond.
Marianne graduated from Galesburg High School in 1949 and attended Browns Business College. She graduated from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg in 1984 as an LPN. She worked as a LPN at Galesburg Mental Health Center and at Knox County Nursing Home. She was of the Lutheran Faith and was a member of the Guardian Angels in Galesburg and in the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed horses and traveling to Branson Mo.
