|Frank Eugene Lambasio, age 63 of Abingdon, died at 6:45 am Monday, December 24, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born August 16, 1949 in Avon, the son of Francis F. and Darlene K. (Freburg) Lambiaso. He married Judith Ann Shugart on August 21, 1976 at the Abingdon Christian Church.
Frank is survived by his wife, Judith; one son, Adam V. (and Jennifer) Lambiaso of Austin Texas; one daughter, Sarah E. Lambiaso of Granite City; three grandchildren, Dane, Malia and Alain; one brother, Ted (and Lovina) Lambasio of Canton; three sisters, Judy Taylor of Ogden, Iowa, Dr. Marlene Lambiaso of Winter Spring, Florida and Darlene Patrick of Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl Linden Taylor.
Frank had lived in Abingdon all his life. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1967. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at the Abingdon Pottery for 33 years and later at Maytag and Lambasio Plumbing, both in Galesburg. For the past 8 years, he was a bus driver for City Link in Peoria. Frank had a passion for taking care of older Abingdon residents so they could stay in their own homes.
Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Abingdon Christian Church. Rev. Darryl McDaniel will officiate. Burial of his ashes will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
