A former St. Louis Cardinal standout will be on the coaching staff of the Quad City River Bandits this season. The Bandit's new parent club, the Houston Astros, announced that Vince Coleman will be a development specialist focused on outfielders and baserunning. Coleman was the 1985 National League Rookie of the Year with the Cardinals, and spent six seasons in St. Louis, where he led the league in stolen bases each year. The Astros have taken over operations of the Quad City affiliate, following the Cardinals departure for Peoria following last season.
