The Galesburg Legion baseball team has a rare off-day, after playing five games at a tournament in Wheaton over the weekend. Post 285 came out of the tourney with a final game victory over Ida, MIchigan yesterday 11-5. Galesburg split a pair of contests on Friday and Saturday to finish at 3-and-2. Their overall record now stands at 14-3, as they get set for a single game with Mercer County Tuesday night at 6 at Sundberg Field.

In Legion action Monday, Monmouth plays host to East Moline.

YMCA

Those wanting to swim at the Knox County YMCA will have to wait a few more days for the completion of repairs to the pool. A press release from the "Y" states that a wrong part for motor repair was received last week, causing a further delay in opening the pool, which was originally expected to be open Monday. The Vitale pool now is scheduled to re-open on Wednesday.

Basketball Camps

Basketball camps are beginning at several area sites this week. The Kline/Walden summer basketball camp at Knox College got underway Monday. The camp continues through Thursday for boys and girls in the 4th through 12th grades at Knox Memorial Gym.

At Galesburg High School, the boys "offensive basketball school" begins this Wednesday. GHS varsity coach Mike Reynolds is running the camp for boys in 6th through 12th grades.
