Local Sports 7/23/13
American Legion Post 285's baseball team ended its season yesterday with a 10-7 loss to Washington in the Legion Third Division Tournament at Sherrard High School. The team's season ends with a record of 35-13, after a late rally fell short in the contest. Trailing by 7 runs going into the top of the ninth inning, Post 285 scored four runs, but still fell short for the second straight game. Coach Steve Cheeseman's team loses only three players from this year's roster, and several college players will return next year.
