The Galesburg varsity girls are off until Thursday, when they will play at Moline. The Silver Streaks picked up their second win of the season on Saturday, when they topped Freeport 65-57. Head Coach Evan Massey told WGIL that he saw some improvement over the weekend.
"A good win for us, at this point. The girls need a reward for their work," Massey said. "I kind of feel like they're headed in the right direction. I thought, really, in the first half, if they made free throws, they could have opened it up and we didn't. We struggle in that area, but I think this was probably our best offensive performance of the year.":
Sabrina Clay led the Silver Streaks with 22 points. The girls will play their next three games on the road.
