Pauline C. Melton, 77, of Galesburg, died at 12:47 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.Pauline was born July 23, 1936 in Galesburg, the daughter of George W. and Cecilia (Peake) Melton, Sr. Pauline is survived by one brother George W. (Sara) Melton, Jr., of Peoria; three nieces; one nephew; and fourteen great nieces and nephews.

Pauline worked for Sanborn Insurance Agency in Galesburg for many years. She was a faithful member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the Insurance Women of Galesburg, and enjoyed sewing and making Christmas fudge for friends and family.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Rev. William Miller, IC will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Additional Visitation will be Friday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. March 28, 2014 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be directed in Pauline’s memory to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or Rosewood Nursing Home.
