URBANA, Ill. (AP) — Before he retires later this month, University of Illinois President Robert Easter could get one last pay increase.
University trustees meeting Thursday in Springfield will consider a performance-based bonus for the outgoing president. According to The News-Gazette in Champaign, the amount will not be determined until the meeting.
Easter’s base salary is $478,558 and his total annual compensation is $658,558. That’s ninth among the 14 Big Ten presidents.
Easter has been awarded bonuses each year on the job for reaching performance-based goals. The bonus trustees will consider Thursday relates to working with his successor, Timothy Killeen, on a smooth transition, helping to fill key leadership positions and other measures.
Easter is scheduled to retire May 18 after taking the job in 2012.
